NHRCCB MEDIA CELL

In India, press freedom, while constitutionally protected under Article 19(1)(a) which guarantees freedom of speech and expression, faces challenges. The press has rights to publish, circulate, receive information, and report court proceedings, among others. However, there are limitations and restrictions on these rights, and the government has been criticized for using colonial-era laws and anti-terrorism laws to suppress the media. The foundation for press freedom in India is Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution, which guarantees the right to freedom of speech and expression. The press has the right to publish and circulate information, including news, articles, and other media

NHRCCB Media Cell aims to promote Press /Media Person Right and other related activities related to press across the nation in support of NHRCCB Volunteer/ Member/ Officer.

For the implementation of different laws related to press Rights and responsibilities as per Indian Constitution, NHRCCB established a separate Constituent unit or cell named “ NHRCCB Media Cell ” with independent managing committee.
